Carr Connection – Used Cars Port Charlotte

After the stressful searches through other Port Charlotte used car dealers, I’m thrilled I decided to stop here. Although they didn’t have the exact car I was looking for, I’ve never been treated with such respect at a car dealership. No pressure or hassle involved with me just stopping by and checking out their inventory.

I felt so comfortable in fact, that I left my phone number with them in case they did come across the car I was looking for.

From what I gather, their inventory fluctuates immensely and with what they are asking for their cars, I can see why.

Great place to check out, you’ll be treated like family and might just find what you’re looking for.

Studio 51 – Port Charlotte Barber Shop

I was referred by a friend of mine to check this place out and I’m glad I did. They all have awesome attitudes and the unique atmosphere really makes this place special. Laughing, joking, music playing in the background makes getting a haircut an absolute pleasure. Talented and friendly barbers are tough to find and this place is well worth checking out.

My Three Son’s – North Port Lawn Care

I’ve gone through almost a dozen local lawn care services that just didn’t work out. Some had a death in the family and stopped their business and other were simply unreliable. There’s nothing worse than calling for a service and getting the “sure, we’ll be there” and they never show. Others actually showed up, but did a real crappy job, skipping the edging and leaving tall grass uncut in various places around my yard. Getting my old mower out to go over their shoddy work after paying them really ticks me off.

After almost year of lawn service provided by “My Three Son’s Lawn Care” I couldn’t be happier!

Ricardo (The owner) has showed up every time I’ve requested and done a stellar job every last time, no matter the weather or current lawn conditions. He’s even gone out of his way to remove my kid’s toys out of the way when I’ve failed to pick them up.

If anyone in North Port or Port Charlotte is looking for a reliable, competent and skilled lawn care service, you must do yourself the favor and check out http://www.NorthPortLawnCare.com and get a quote for your property.

I promise you wont be disappointed.

Brickhouse / Brick Grill Pizza Review – North Port Florida

*** This is a personal weblog. Everything written in the main body of the blog is my own opinion. My opinion may be based on incorrect information and I may be completely and utterly clueless and wrong. If you disagree with any of my posts or opinions, please feel free to leave a comment. Intelligent discourse is always welcome.

Brickhouse / Brick Grill Pizza

BrickHousePizzaThis is the absolute worst restaurant I’ve ever visited in SW Florida.

Allow me to break it down…

(Visit was on a Wednesday; the restaurant was half full and not very busy).

1) The service is terrible. It took twenty minutes to get our order placed and close to FORTY to make it!! We even kept our order simple to avoid issues.  We never got refills and had to ask several times to finally get them. There was several of us at the table and the plates kept piling up. We had to move our used dishes/plates/silverware to a empty table so we had room. The waitress never bothered to help and we were left to clean up on our own. I’d go into more detail, but there’s too much to list and if you get a different waitress/waiter you might have a different experience.

2) The Food Sucks.

I don’t see how this place manages to stay in business with their poor quality of food. The salads were small with dried up produce, the bread sticks had the consistency of leather and could hardly be cut with a knife ,  the mozzarella sticks were split open and practically empty from being cooked too long and their pizza was dreadful.  I’ve had better pizza from a street cart vendor and would have gladly traded my horrible experience at this place for a triple root canal with no anesthesia. Feel free to visit the place and share your own opinion.

In my opinion, this place should be avoided like a pit bull with AIDS.

Sparkle Brite Pools of North Port

northportpoolsuppliesJust like any guy that goes shopping, I like to get in/out and get what I need with minimal hassle. Sparkle Brite Pools of North Port has always been a pleasure to do business with. I can get in, get my chlorine, filters and pool chemicals from guys that actually know what they’re talking about. Attitudes are good and the place is easy to navigate when trying to find what you need. If you have a pool and need supplies, this is the place to go. I’ve gone to many different stores to get supplies and this particular business stands out from the rest.

Level Five Tattoo

tatGot tattooed by Chris and can’t say enough of how thrilled I am with it. The shop was clean, the people were friendly and everything was done with the utmost professionalism. There was a nice and calm atmosphere and Chris did a fantastic job. He truly has a talent and love for his art and it shows in his work and attitude. Chris also does photography and after I’m done with a few more pieces, I’ll be having him take some photos. Big difference. In January of 2009 the level 5 in Port Charlotte went through a drastic change. (They hired a new manager). Since then this shop has turned around completely. This is a great shop. Good atmosphere. Very clean. This crew is stellar and they all enjoy what they do. Keep up the good work guys!!!I’ll be getting more ink from Level 5 in the near future, only wish I could rate this higher.

Call (941) 255-0505 and talk with Chris, tell him Matt sent you. ;)

tires

This has got to be one of the best places I’ve ever been to get new tires for my car. Normally, I order tires off TireRack.com and bring them to a random garage to get them mounted/balanced/etc.

This time, I needed tires on my car immediately for an unplanned trip and these guys came through for me. I called in the morning to see if they have my tire size in stock. They didn’t, but since the gentleman was so friendly on the phone and promised to have them by 2pm, I decided to go ahead and have them ordered. I was called at 2pm (as promised) and I brought my car in. These guys took less than 12 minutes to get my old tires off, new tires on and hand me the bill.

I ended up paying less then I would have if I order via the net and had everything done within the same day.

Reviewing North Port Florida Businesses

I’ve created this blog as a place to share our experiences with North Port’s local businesses.

During these times of economic turmoil, businesses are changing. Some business owners are using this period in time to reinvent their business or perfect their current business strategy. Searching these businesses out, publishing a review and allowing others to comment can provide priceless information and save everyone time and money.

Unfortunately, there are businesses that fail to meet a reasonable standard of service. Be it the bad economy or bad business practices, these establishments should be answerable to public opinion and you should know what your getting into before doing business with them.

North Port is growing and I for one would like to know where I should visit and where I should avoid.

I’ll create a form where you can submit a business, description and short review.

** All businesses that are listed or submitted here will be reviewed,  in some way, by the author.
